Books of Ruth and Esther

The theme of this unit is ennobled womanhood. It begins with the doctrine of Imago Dei, and children study biblical femininity as revealed through the lives of Ruth and Esther. Children read both books in the Old Testament and learn the role of women as God created them. The study of Ruth also highlights a profile of the kinsman-redeemer and the inclusion of Gentiles in the lineage of Jesus Christ. The study of Esther reveals how one young woman’s decisions affected the history of her nation. This guide includes 24 Bible_Reading lesson plans; graphic organizers; vocabulary cards; memory verse cards; and parent prayer and blessing cards.
