Old Testament Prophets

This is a providential history unit combined with our Bible reading for
reasoning method. Students walk chronologically with 15 prophets, beginning
in the Old Testament with Abel and Moses and concluding in the New
Testament with John the Baptist and Jesus Christ. The historic background
and individuality of each prophet are introduced through readings, while
assigned portions of the prophetic writings are read, which provide the
principles with which students reason and relate truth to their own lives and
culture.
This unit is recommended for older students and adults. The prophets’
writings are often difficult to understand, because they were written in Hebrew
poetic language using imagery, figures of speech, and symbols that require
decoding.
The following educational resources are included: 33 prescribed lesson plans,
17 readings, timeline, map of Israel, prophet profiles, graphic organizers,
handouts, bookmarks, song sheet, vocabulary cards, and memory verse
cards. It also includes instructions for a culminating celebration called “The
Parade of Prophets” and provides student scripts, costume instructions, and
recipes for hosting an Israeli meal.

Student resources are accessed by a QR code on the Paper version of the guides.

Available in English and Spanish.
